Hosted Buyer Terms & Conditions

DMAI is delighted to offer the Hosted Buyer program and reminds participants that this is an important business trip. While we hope you have a productive and enjoyable experience, it is not appropriate to bring travel companions. Your participation is contingent upon acceptance of the terms and conditions outlined below.

DMAI will provide these items provided the Hosted Buyer fulfills their obligations:

  1. Complimentary admission to Destinations Showcase Chicago.
  2. Reimbursement of up to $300 for round-trip train or airfare (receipts required) to and from Chicago/O’Hare International Airport (must arrive by 5:00 p.m. CT on Tuesday, June 22, and stay through scheduled evening activities on Wednesday, June 23, 2010). Please allow up to 30 days following the event for reimbursement.
  3. Two nights of accommodations at the headquarters or similar hotel (check-in on June 22 and check-out on June 24) with complimentary hotel shuttle to/from airport.
  4. Certain meals as described for each program.

Buyer agrees to these terms and obligations:

  1. Attend all scheduled activities, including, but not limited to these:
    1. pre-scheduled appointments with up to five sponsoring destinations;
    2. morning educational sessions, keynote luncheon, and afternoon expo; and
    3. VIP receptions on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
  2. All incidental expenses, additional accommodations, upgrades, travel insurance, food and beverage (excluding VIP receptions and keynote luncheon), and personal extras are the responsibility of the Hosted Buyer. Hotel will require a credit card at check-in for incidental expenses.
  3. Pay a $300 cancellation fee, plus reimbursement for actual cost of any airfare paid for by DMAI, if the Hosted Buyer fails to participate in the program for any reason. Agreeing to this penalty serves as a guarantee of your participation. If airline tickets have any value, the buyer may use for his/ her own purposes, paying change fees as required. DMAI has no obligation to assist with ticket changes when a buyer cancels.
  4. Invitations and acceptance are non-transferable. With written consent, DMAI may allow some substitution before airline ticketing for a fee.
  5. All participants are expected to abide by the Destinations Showcase Code of Conduct at all times.

Assumptions of Risk/Liability Waiver

Participating Hosted Buyers expressly assumes all risk associated with, resulting from, or arising in connection with his/her travel, participation, and presence at the Hosted Buyer Program, including, without limitation, all risks of theft, loss, harm or injury to the person (including death), property, business or profits of participants, whether caused by negligence, intentional act, accident, Act of God, or otherwise. Neither the Organizers, nor the Event Facilities, nor any of their respective officers, directors, shareholders, agents, employees, representatives, or assigns, shall be liable for, and Hosted Buyer hereby releases all of them from, and covenants not to sue any of them with respect to, any and all risks, damages, and liabilities described in this paragraph.
